Audi has won a 2015 L.E.A.D.E.R. Award, awarded in the category Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Automotive News Europe, the leading magazine for the automotive industry in Europe, and the Automotive Intelligence Center of Bilbao in Spain give this award to European companies and institutions that make outstanding contributions to development, excellence and research in the automotive industry.
According to the jury, Audi is setting new standards in the developing fields of lightweight design and piloted driving. The brand’s innovation is shown in the new Audi Q7, which is up to 325 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, and in the Audi A7 piloted driving concept car, which completed a 560 mile piloted drive from Silicon Valley, California to the 2015 CES in Las Vegas, Nevada.
„Audi has a gifted team of engineers around the globe that keep pushing the limits of technology”, commented Prof. Dr. Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG. „I’m very pleased that this award highlights our pioneering role in lightweight design and piloted driving. Audi will continue to bring its automobiles to new levels of convenient, connected and efficient premium mobility“.
