The Association of University Lecturers in Business Administration (VHB) has elected Rupert Stadler as the “Science Oriented Entrepreneur of the Year.” In his laudation, the Chairman of the Roland Berger Stiftung, Prof. Dr. Burkhard Schwenker, emphasized that Prof. Stadler as CEO of AUDI AG stands for “sustainability in corporate management and a high awareness of values in moral terms as well as with regard to the quality of products.”
The jury explained its decision with the assessment that Prof. Stadler has rendered exemplary services in the promotion of cooperation between science and business. They pointed out that he seeks solutions with a scientific basis. In this context, Audi supports numerous “application-related research activities and thus successfully implements findings from the field of consumer research.”
“We potentiate our knowledge through global exchange in scientific cooperation,” stated Prof. Stadler as a reaction to the award. He believes that many accomplishments in industry are inconceivable without the transfer of basic findings from universities and other educational institutions. In his acceptance speech, he called access to information the “new question of social justice in our society.”
As an honorary professor, Stadler lectures in strategic corporate management at the Universities of St. Gallen and Munich. The Association of University Lecturers in Business Administration has more than 2,200 members in German-speaking countries.
