Josef Junker was born in 1960.
After studying Production Engineering at Aalen University, he began his professional career in 1984 as a production planner at AUDI AG in Neckarsulm. He then held various positions as group leader at both Audi locations in Germany, including in the Tool Shop in Neckarsulm, before taking over as Head of Production Planning for Body Construction and the Pressed Parts Platform in 1995. In 2003 the graduate engineer moved to Quality Assurance, first as Head of Quality Assurance Measuring Technology in Neckarsulm, then as Head of the Master Jigs/Cubing Center in Ingolstadt. Next, Junker was responsible for Quality Assurance at Audi Hungaria Motors for four years, and then for Site Quality Assurance at Audi in Neckarsulm for almost another four years. Starting in 2015, he spent several years abroad as Head of Quality Assurance at FAW-VW in China. He returned to Neckarsulm in 2018 and from then on headed the A8 Production Segment.
Josef Junker has been responsible for the newly founded “Brand Press Shop” area since October 2019. This is where central management of the press shops at the Ingolstadt, Neckarsulm, Győr and San José Chiapa sites is consolidated. This ensures optimum utilization of press shop capacities and the best possible supply of parts to all production sites.
